A 45-day window flatters any daily rate. The same rate held for a full year produces the following.

The arithmetic this implies. A 2% daily rate compounds to 137,560% per year in ETH terms. A 1 ETH position would grow to 1,376.6 ETH after twelve months if the rate held. That is not a return — it is a schedule that cannot be sustained without matching capital inflow every single day.

Where the payout has to come from

Every ETH paid out as a return has to enter the stokvel as a contribution or as new capital. Take one position from each package running in parallel for a single 45-day round:

Every ETH has a source. In a stokvel the source is other members’ contributions — the rotating pot is the mechanism. In a daily-compounding schedule, members are earning more ETH than they put in, so the extra has to come from outside the stokvel: new contributions entering behind existing positions, or a subsidy. That mechanism is what the ETHx page describes as network marketing. If the inflow stops, the schedule stops. There is no third source.

What a stokvel is

A stokvel is a rotating savings and credit association — a group of people who each pay a fixed amount into a common pot on a schedule, and take turns receiving the whole pot. They are a long-standing and entirely legitimate savings practice in South Africa, used by millions of people, and they are not inherently a scheme.

What separates a working stokvel from a failing one is not the concept. It is whether the rules are written down, whether the rotation order is agreed in advance, and whether anyone is holding the money between rounds.

One Ethereum per club

Each club targets a 1 ETH pot. Members contribute in ETH, and the club pays out in ETH. The largest package — 1 ETH — is the reference position.

That gives one equation, and everything else follows from it:

So the contribution size is not just a price point. It is the dial that sets how many people are in front of you.

In a rotating club, N members means N rounds for a complete rotation. One person receives per round. If you are last in the order, you wait N − 1 rounds before your turn.

Wait time for the last member in the rotation. Assumes no member misses a round.

The number nobody is told. A 0.005 ETH package buys the cheapest seat and the longest queue. In a 5 ETH pot at 0.005 ETH per member, the person at the back waits roughly 83 years on a monthly round.

What to confirm before joining

  • Which model applies — the rotation or the daily rate? They are different products with different funding requirements. Ask which one the operator commits to in writing.
  • Who holds the pot between rounds? If a person holds it, that person can leave with it. If a contract holds it, check the contract.
  • Is the rotation order written down and agreed? Before anyone pays in.
  • What happens if a member stops contributing after receiving? Early recipients owe the club for every remaining round.
  • Where does the daily payout come from? The rate card pays out more ETH than the stokvel takes in. The gap has to be funded by new contributions or an external subsidy.
  • What is the exit rule? Can you leave after 45 days and get your contribution back? Usually not — and that should be stated up front.
The one-line version. The daily-rate schedule is what a stokvel would pay if it were funded by new contributions. The rotation is what a savings circle pays when it is funded by its own members. Only one of them can be what a specific club is actually running.

How clubs are identified

Each club is assigned a sequential identifier in the format CLUB № 0001 — four digits, zero-padded, issued once at creation.

The number is an identity, not a rank. Within a club, the thing that determines your outcome is your seat number in the rotation, not the club’s name.

What each of these does and doesn’t tell you

Maximum supply: 1,000,000,000

A maximum supply is a ceiling, not a balance. It describes how many tokens can exist, not how many do.

If a mint function exists and is not renounced, the “maximum” is a current setting rather than a limit.

Blockchain: Base

Base is an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, launched in August 2023. It settles transactions to Ethereum mainnet, with fees paid in ETH.

The token and any contracts around it are verified on Basescan, not Etherscan. Use basescan.org.

Ticker: ETHx

A ticker is a label, not an identifier. Anyone can deploy a token called ETHx on any chain.

The contract address is the only unique identifier.

Name: Ethereum Exponential

The word “Ethereum” in a token name does not indicate any relationship with the Ethereum Foundation.

It is a description of the project’s own framing, not a certification.

Why this is the only question that matters first

Every other property of a programme — the payout ratios, the cycle structure, the growth projections — is downstream of one thing: who holds the money between the moment it leaves your wallet and the moment it reaches someone else’s.

This page is about how to tell which of those two you are looking at, and how to verify the receiving address before sending anything.

Which explorer to use. For a Base token, use basescan.org. For ETH on Ethereum mainnet, use Etherscan.

Reading a transaction on a block explorer

  1. Get the contract address from an official source.

    Compare it across at least two official channels.

  2. Open that address on the correct block explorer.

    Basescan for Base, Etherscan for Ethereum mainnet.

  3. Open the Transactions tab.

    Look for contract call transactions from members.

  4. Click into a single recent activation.

    Pick one from the last day or two.

  5. Find the “Internal Transactions” section.

    This is where value moving out of the contract appears.

  6. Count the destinations.

    Did value leave to several distinct addresses within the same transaction — or did it stay put?

The distinction that matters. Non-custodial design answers the question “can someone run off with the pot?” It does not answer “is there a pot?”

Where contributions are received

If you decide to send ETH toward a package, there is exactly one receiving address. Anyone who gives you a different address is not acting on behalf of this stokvel.

    Type basescan.org into your browser. Do not click a link someone sent you. Type it.

  2. Search the Base Name.

    In the search bar, enter ethereumexponential.base.eth and press enter.

  3. Confirm it resolves to the address above.

    Basescan will show the resolved address. It should read 0xb26Fee6D71B949f70202CE43B9F1260467E8ffFA.

  4. Compare first and last six characters.

    The address begins 0xb26Fee… and ends …7E8ffFA. If either differs from what you see here, stop.

  5. Check the transaction history.

    Basescan shows every transaction this address has ever received or sent. If it has no history, it is new. If it has history, you can see how it has actually been used.

  6. Send a test amount first.

    If you are going to send anything at all, start with the smallest package. Confirm it arrives before considering anything larger.

Impostors exist. Anyone can create an ENS name that resembles this one, or send you a wallet address that differs by one character. There is no support line to call if you send to the wrong address. Before you send, compare the full 42-character hex address character-by-character against the one shown above. If it does not match exactly, it is not the receiving wallet.
The address is not a contract. A wallet address and a smart contract address are different things. If you are trying to verify whether funds pool or pass through, that is a separate check on a separate address — see the method above.

What a position actually is

A position — sometimes called a slot — is a place in a queue. You buy one by making an entry payment. That payment does not sit anywhere waiting for you. It is divided immediately among a defined set of recipients.

Every unit paid out to a participant entered the system as a unit paid in by a different participant.

The condition that has to hold. Every cycle depends on a later activation arriving. If entries slow, the positions furthest from the entry point stop receiving.

Take the split at face value: 14 units in, 6 units to the activating member on the first pass. Everything on this page follows from that ratio and one other fact — no money enters the system except through new participants.

The claims worth testing yourself

  • “You can start with a small amount.” True, and irrelevant — the entry size does not change the ratio.
  • “The contract is non-custodial.” Verifiable, and it solves a different problem than solvency.
  • “The daily rate is 2%.” Verifiable arithmetic: it compounds to 137,560% per year in ETH terms, and requires matching capital inflow to be paid.
Read this first. Registering does not join you to a club, does not reserve a seat, and does not commit you to anything. It adds your email to a list so you can be contacted when a round opens. If you decide to contribute

Registering on this page does not commit you to anything. But if you are considering sending ETH toward a package, work through this list first. Every item is something you can check yourself.

  • Confirm the receiving address against two sources. The only correct address is on the money-flow page. Verify it there, then verify it again on Basescan by searching ethereumexponential.base.eth. If the two do not match, stop.
  • Confirm the network. The stokvel runs on Base. Sending ETH on Ethereum mainnet, Arbitrum, Optimism, or any other chain means your funds arrive somewhere else, at a different address, or are lost entirely.
  • Understand what you are buying. You are not buying a token or a share. You are contributing to a rotating savings circle. The packages and the daily-rate schedule are described on the home page, including the funding gap.
  • Read the funding gap paragraph. The 1 ETH package pays out 2.4378 ETH in 45 days. The site works through where that extra ETH has to come from. Read it before sending anything.
  • Know who you are dealing with. There is no company behind this page that you can sue, no regulator you can complain to, and no support line. If the operator disappears, so does any ETH you have sent.
  • Record your transaction hash. After you send, copy the transaction hash from your wallet. Without it, there is no way to trace what you sent, and no way for anyone — including you — to prove a payment was made.
  • Start with the smallest package. If you are going to test the flow, test it with 0.005 ETH. Do not send 1 ETH as your first transaction.
  • Accept that you may receive nothing. That is not a hypothetical. The funding gap described on the home page is a real, visible risk. If you are not prepared to lose what you send, do not send it.

How a contribution is currently made

Payments are manual. There is no checkout button on this page, no automatic address generation, and no smart contract that this form interacts with.

If you decide to contribute, the process is:

  1. Register your email above.

    This puts you on the list. Nothing is charged.

  2. Wait for contact.

    The operator contacts waitlisted emails when a round opens. You can ask questions before sending anything.

  3. Verify the address yourself.

    Follow the six steps on the money-flow page to confirm the wallet before you send.

  4. Send from your own wallet.

    Send ETH on Base to the verified address. Save the transaction hash.

  5. Reply with your transaction hash.

    The operator records your contribution against your registration. There is no on-chain confirmation screen here because the payment flow is not yet automated.

An automated flow is being scoped. When it exists, it will be a separate application with its own address bar, not a form embedded in this site. Until then, treat any “pay here” button on any site claiming to be ETHx as suspicious.
